sunrisePerdido Key, or “Lost Land” as it was called when it was discovered by the Spanish, is a community between Pensacola, FL and Orange Beach, AL, famous for its pristine beaches and scenic national parks. Once a small town known for its simple beauties, it now offers magnificent waterfront homes and luxury resorts and hotels while still remaining relaxing and uncrowded.

One of the hidden gems of Northwest Florida, this town offers the perfect combination of white sandy beaches, emerald waters, and great fishing. Perdido key was once used as a haven for pirates sailing between New Orleans and Pensacola, leaving behind a town rich in history, filled with hidden treasures that now forms part of the Pensacola community.

Each year, more people are choosing year-round residency in this far western corner of Escambia County, due to the privacy and the protected beaches which keep the skyline of Perdido Key beautifully scenic.

Perdido Key has a population of 34,986 residents as of 2011. It is known as an area filled with outdoor activities for all tastes. For those with an eye for nature, Perdido Key offers the Gulf Islands National Seashore, which is a great place to camp, fish, swim, snorkel, hike, bike, and bird watch along miles of pristine shoreline. The Andrew Jackson Trail is one of nine trails leading out of Naval Live Oaks, which also offers a 40-mile biking loop. Another option that offers similar activities is the Big Lagoon State Park. This relaxing state park offers rental pavilions and a new state of the art amphitheater which are also available for large gatherings such as reunions, weddings, and birthday parties.
